End User License Agreement
LiMon End User License Agreement (EULA). Read before installing or using the LiMon software.
Last updated: February 2026
PLEASE READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING OR USING THE LIMON SOFTWARE. BY INSTALLING, COPYING, OR OTHERWISE USING THE SOFTWARE YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT INSTALL OR USE THE SOFTWARE.
1. Parties and Definitions
“Licensor” means LiMon S.L., the developer and owner of the LiMon software, reachable at legal@limonops.com.
“Licensee” (also “you”) means the individual or legal entity that has obtained a license to use the Software under this Agreement.
“Software” means the LiMon license monitoring application in the edition licensed to you, including all its components, container images, configuration files, scripts, and associated documentation.
“Installation ID” means the unique identifier generated automatically by the Software during its initial setup on your infrastructure. The Installation ID identifies a Deployment, not any specific physical or virtual host.
“License Key” means the cryptographically signed file issued by the Licensor that activates the Software for a specific Installation ID and edition.
“Deployment” means a single running instance of the Software stack, identified by one Installation ID, regardless of the underlying host or infrastructure.
“License Server” means a third-party license management server (FlexLM, RLM, LM-X, or DSLS) that you configure LiMon to monitor.
“Community Edition” means the free edition of the Software distributed under the Business Source License 1.1 (BUSL-1.1) via the public GitHub repository.
“Commercial Edition” means the Standard or Professional platform edition distributed as a Docker appliance under this Agreement. The Commercial Edition includes the Intelligence Tier components (Admin UI and Setup Wizard) as a perpetual right.
“Subscription” means the annual add-on that unlocks Intelligence Reports (Savings Report, Audit Defense Report and others), Advanced Analytics, AD/LDAP and Hybrid Entra integration, email support, and entitlement to platform updates, on top of a Commercial Edition platform license.
2. License Editions
2.1 Community Edition
The Community Edition is licensed separately under the Business Source License 1.1 (BUSL-1.1), the full text of which is available in the product repository at github.com/LiMon-Monitoring/LiMon-core. This Agreement does not apply to the Community Edition except where expressly stated.
2.2 Commercial Editions (Standard and Professional)
Subject to the terms of this Agreement and receipt of full payment, the Licensor grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to operate one Deployment of the Software for your own internal business operations, monitoring up to the number of License Servers specified in your License Key.
| Edition | Included perpetually |
Requires active Subscription |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Monitoring, Admin UI, Setup Wizard (up to 10 License Servers) |
PDF Reports, Email Support, Platform Updates |
| Professional | Monitoring, Admin UI, Setup Wizard, Webhooks (unlimited License Servers) |
PDF Reports, Compliance Ledger, Advanced Analytics, AD/LDAP & Hybrid Entra, Priority Email Support, Platform Updates |
3. Grant of License
Under this Agreement you may:
- Install and operate one active Deployment of the Software, identified by its Installation ID.
- Monitor up to the number of License Servers specified in your License Key.
- Migrate the Deployment to a different host at any time (see Section 5).
- Make a reasonable number of backup copies of the Software solely for disaster recovery purposes.
4. License Restrictions
You may not:
- Run more simultaneous Deployments than covered by your License Key.
- Monitor more License Servers than the limit specified in your License Key.
- Redistribute, sublicense, sell, rent, lease, or transfer the Software or any License Key to any third party.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of any proprietary component of the Software, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.
- Modify or create derivative works of any proprietary component of the Software.
- Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice embedded in the Software.
- Use the Software to provide a hosted or managed service to third parties without a separate written agreement with the Licensor.
- Circumvent or disable the license enforcement mechanisms of the Software.
5. License Keys and Deployments
5.1 Installation ID. When the Software is first run, it generates a unique Installation ID for that Deployment. The License Key is issued for this Installation ID. The Installation ID is not bound to any specific physical or virtual host — it identifies the Deployment itself.
5.2 Migrating to a new host. Because the Installation ID is generated at setup, a fresh installation on a different host creates a new Installation ID and requires a new License Key. Contact sales@limonops.com for a replacement License Key at no additional charge. The Licensor aims to process migration requests within one business day.
5.3 Evaluation editions. License Keys for evaluation editions expire after 60 days. When an evaluation key expires, the Software automatically reverts to Community Edition functionality (up to 5 License Servers, no commercial or subscription features).
5.4 Air-gap support. The Software performs license validation locally using the License Key and does not require internet access for day-to-day operation. Installations in air-gapped environments are fully supported.
6. Subscription Services
6.1 A single Subscription product is sold as an annual licence on top of a Commercial Edition platform licence. An active Subscription unlocks Intelligence Reports (Savings Report and Audit Defense Report), Advanced Analytics, AD/LDAP and Hybrid Entra integration, email support, and entitlement to platform updates, as described in the product documentation. The specific features available depend on the underlying platform tier (see Section 2.2).
6.2 Subscriptions renew annually unless cancelled. The Licensor will notify you by email at least 30 days before the renewal date.
6.3 If a Subscription expires or is cancelled, the Software continues to operate at the underlying platform tier. Subscription-gated features (including PDF reports, advanced analytics, AD/LDAP and Hybrid Entra, and email support) become inaccessible until the Subscription is renewed. The perpetual platform features (monitoring, Admin UI, Wizard) are not affected by Subscription status. You are not entitled to platform updates without an active Subscription.
6.4 No refund is issued for unused portions of a Subscription period once activated, except where required by applicable law.
7. Delivery and Installation
7.1 The Software is delivered as a compressed archive (.tgz) and installed via the provided install.sh or docker-install.sh script, as described in the Quick Start documentation.
7.2 The Software runs entirely on your infrastructure. The Licensor does not have access to your systems, license data, or any data generated by the Software.
8. Support
8.1 Community Edition: Support is provided through the public GitHub issue tracker on a best-effort, community basis.
8.2 Standard Edition with active Subscription: Email support at support@limonops.com during business hours (Monday–Friday, CET), with a target response time of 2 business days.
8.3 Professional Edition with active Subscription: Priority email support with a target response time of 1 business day.
8.4 Email support (Sections 8.2 and 8.3) requires an active Subscription. Without an active Subscription, Commercial Edition customers may use the public GitHub issue tracker on a community basis.
8.5 Platform updates are provided to customers with an active Subscription. The Licensor may provide updates at its discretion. Updates do not alter or extend any license term.
9. Intellectual Property
9.1 The Software, including all proprietary components, is and remains the exclusive intellectual property of LiMon S.L. This Agreement does not transfer any ownership rights to you.
9.2 The proprietary components of the Software — including the Admin UI, Setup Wizard, Intelligence Reports, and Advanced Analytics Engine — are covered by the LiMon Proprietary License and may only be used as part of a licensed Deployment under this Agreement.
9.3 The LiMon name and logo are trademarks of LiMon S.L. You may not use them without prior written consent, except to truthfully state that you use LiMon.
9.4 The Software incorporates open-source components. The licences applicable to those components are listed in the product documentation and are unaffected by this Agreement.
10. Data and Privacy
The Software runs entirely on-premises. LiMon S.L. does not receive, collect, or process any data from your Deployment or from the License Servers you monitor. See the Privacy Policy for information on data collected through this website.
11. Warranty Disclaimer
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. LIMON S.L. DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, LiMon S.L. expressly disclaims all warranties. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so the above exclusion may not apply to you in full.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LIMON S.L. BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THIS AGREEMENT OR YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
LiMon S.L.’s total cumulative liability to you under this Agreement shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Software in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
Nothing in this Agreement limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by LiMon S.L.’s negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.
13. Termination
13.1 This Agreement is effective until terminated.
13.2 It terminates automatically if you breach any of its terms and fail to cure the breach within 30 days of written notice from the Licensor.
13.3 The Licensor may terminate this Agreement immediately upon written notice if you breach Section 4 (License Restrictions).
13.4 Upon termination you must cease using the Software, destroy all copies in your possession, and, if requested, certify in writing that you have done so.
13.5 Sections 9 (Intellectual Property), 11 (Warranty Disclaimer), 12 (Limitation of Liability), 14 (Governing Law), and 15 (General Provisions) survive termination.
14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This Agreement is governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to this Agreement that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Spain.
If you are a consumer located in the European Union, you may also benefit from any mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law of your country of residence, and nothing in this Agreement affects your statutory consumer rights.
15. General Provisions
15.1 Entire Agreement. This Agreement, together with any order confirmation or purchase receipt issued by the Licensor or its payment processor (Paddle), constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the Software and supersedes all prior agreements, proposals, and representations.
15.2 Severability. If any provision of this Agreement is held unenforceable, it shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
15.3 Waiver. Failure to enforce any provision of this Agreement shall not constitute a waiver of future enforcement.
15.4 Amendments. LiMon S.L. may update this Agreement for future versions of the Software. Continued use of the Software after notice of an updated Agreement constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Material changes will be notified by email to customers with an active licence or subscription.
15.5 Assignment. You may not assign or transfer this Agreement or any rights under it without the prior written consent of LiMon S.L. LiMon S.L. may assign this Agreement in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of its assets.
